FOUNDER & CFO
Starting over two decades ago as a body and energy worker, Kim noticed a large gap between what professionals were receiving and what they needed to protect, run and grow their business successfully. Her desire to serve like-minded professionals steadily grew Alternative Balance, which now provides insurance coverage and business tools to tens of thousands of professionals all over the U.S.
Kim enjoys spending time in nature, on the open road and exploring new places with her family and friends. As a PhD candidate and ordained Reverend, Kim is passionate about her studies and teachings of metaphysics.
Katie
OWNER & CEO
Katie is a second generation business owner and ensures that what you see and do with Alternative Balance goes above and beyond the highest standards. As a stable leader and educated licensed insurance agent, Katie manages the daily business operations and works closely with each team member to better serve you and the industry as a whole.
Katie finds her balance in being active outdoors in nature and enjoys activities like hiking, long walks, four wheeling, snowmobiling, kayaking and yoga. She’s happiest when these activities can be paired with her dogs, family and friends.
Miriam
CIO
As a licensed agent with over 15 years in the industry, Miriam understands the complexity of insurance coverage needed for such specialized services. She communicates skillfully with partners, brokers and underwriters on each policy, and heads the marketing and technology departments so guests and members can easily understand and participate.
Miriam enjoys reading, hiking, riding bikes, gardening and traveling. She loves animals and is currently waiting for her new kittens to arrive. Miriam loves windy days and sunshine, and she is excited to be exploring beautiful New England as a new resident.
Lee
Lead Developer
Lee was destined to become a software engineer. First learning to program in the 1990’s, today he specializes in building Alternative Balance web applications designed to delight you! Lee pulls on his experience developing web sites, analyzing large sets of data, consulting on e-commerce, and being a life-long learner, always expanding his personal tree of knowledge to provide you with the best website experience.
He loves to obsess over new hobbies such as collecting fountain pens or learning about city design. He regularly camps in a hammock, paddles his kayak, and climbs trees for fun. And in all of these activities, he always has a book close at hand.
Katya
Junior Developer
With a genuine passion for creativity and software engineering, Katya doesn't just see coding as writing lines, but as a tool for weaving dreams into digital reality. Her work at Alternative Balance is fueled by the belief that building intuitive and impactful software solutions can create a ripple effect, touching lives far and wide.
Katya’s insatiable curiosity leads her to explore a multitude of hobbies, from the tactile satisfaction of mechanical keyboards to the serene adventure of kayaking. When not coding or learning, Katya spends time with her partner and two foster fail kittens, Kira and Shoyo, who can not only give a high-five or sit on command, but are slowly learning how to communicate and talk to humans.
Meghan
Office Manager & Customer Service Manager
Happy employees and happy customers - Meghan ensures that both are top priority! She always makes sure that everyone is getting the support they need while enjoying the process.
After being an Esthetician in Alaska for 10 years, she moved back to New Hampshire to be closer to family. She enjoys spending time with her two girls and large family, taking trips to the ocean or mountains and finding the next best place to get great food!
Dawn

Dawn specializes in document customization and account resolutions. As our resolution leader Dawn’s uplifting personal service makes the most complicated requests seamless and efficient.
Dawn is an active grandmother of 7 beautiful grandchildren. She also loves camping, gardening and baking. She is the proud owner of Cake 'n Bake by Dawn.
Monica

Monica's knowledge of the hundreds of trades we serve along with her confident, calm approach gives you the peace of mind that she will understand your needs. She always makes sure you have access to the best protection and business tools out there.
Monica is a proud mother of 3 wonderful children. She enjoys the ocean, camping, decorating and DIY projects. In her downtime she most likely will be watching a true crime documentary.
Kristine

When talking with Kristine, you will feel like you’re talking to a long-time friend. She will not only make you feel welcome but she will make sure that your questions are answered clearly and efficiently to provide everyone the best customer service experience.
Kristine is a wife and a dog mom who loves animals, crafting, yoga, hiking and kayaking. She enjoys spending time with her family, and her favorite thing to do is make people laugh.
Kelsey

Although Kelsey is the newest member of the customer service team, you wouldn't know it by the number of 5 star reviews she receives! When you work with her, you can relax knowing that she will take the time to listen and ensure that you are well taken care of.
Kelsey has lived in the granite state her entire life. Every time a season changes there is always a chance that she will be doing something adventurous, whether it be kayaking to catch a big fish or snowmobiling up north to see what that state has to offer. Kelsey has two fur babies that she enjoys being with when she's not with her big family.
Gina
Marketing Manager
After 16 years as the Marketing Director for a local YMCA, Gina is excited to dive into the world of digital marketing at Alternative Balance. She is thrilled to bring her talents, skills and experience to such a supportive group of like-minded professionals.
Gina enjoys hiking, kayaking, fishing and skiing with her family and friends. When she’s not participating, you’ll find her on the sidelines cheering for her kids at their sporting events with a very loud cowbell.
Michelle
Member Outreach and Partnerships
A native New Hamshirite, and UNH alumna, Michelle has always had a passion for business development, marketing and project management. She started out her career in the late 90’s with Monster.com at the beginning of the company’s success and popular Super Bowl ad, “When I Grow Up”. Michelle continued on in the digital marketing/web space consulting with boarding and private K-12 schools, nationally. Up until a few years ago, she owned and operated a small photography business.
Michelle loves to travel, create new recipes, hike, spend time with her husband and kids, and is a little obsessed with British TV. You will find her on the sidelines of the Lacrosse field cheering on her daughter, annoyed by Gina’s cowbell.
