The type of policy we offer does include business personal property as well as business interruption coverage! You can adjust your limits during the application process!

Our coverage is designed to cover you for bodily injury and property damage claims that you become legally obligated to pay due to your business operations and professional services. Since each situation is different, a claims adjuster makes those decisions at the time a claim is submitted and if it was deemed as a result of your negligence the insurance is designed to respond in that type of situation.

Animals are NOT considered property covered by the Business Personal Property & Business Interruption coverage.

No, the Alternative Balance program does not cover the medical bills of the insured member even if the injury resulted from offering your services.

If you have specific or unique verbiage required by an additional insured, we recommend that you email us directly with this information, and we will manually issue the updated certificate and/or accord. Email us at [email protected] with subject line "AI Custom." Contact us if you have further questions.

Most custom certificates can be processed within 24 hours during regular business hours.

Additional insureds must remain for the life of the policy and cannot be changed over to a new location. This is because a lawsuit may still arise in the future for your time working in this location so it must remain on the policy to provide the proper legal protection.

Please keep in mind that you only need to add this new location if they are specifically requesting it. If they are, you can simply add them as a new additional insured in your account center.

No, the policy is only in your name (as the professional). You can only add a business name or landlord.

If you own the business, you would want to list this information in the Policy Holder Business Information section of the application or in your profile.

Simply log in to your account. Go to "My Policies," then click the link to your current policy number. Scroll down and you should see a button that says "Add Additional Insured." Click that button, enter required information, click submit, and then you can download and/or print your certificate. If you include the Additional Insured's email address, then they will automatically receive a copy of the certificate via email.

An additional insured (AI) is reserved for a business name or landlord you want listed on the policy. It is not for other professional providers and/or co-workers.

When you add a landlord or business name to your policy as an AI, you are extending your policy coverages to protect them from any lawsuit that was caused by your negligence.

The Incurred Period (or Incurral Period) means the time period the covered loss or covered expense must be claimed. The Incurred Period begins on the date the accident causing the loss happened.

This is the period of time between the date of the accident causing injury to the participant and the date when no further eligible expenses may be incurred by the injured participant.

This sublimit is the most the policy will pay for dental services required as the result of a participant's injuries from an accident.

Expenses incurred for dental services are also subject to the Maximum Accidental Medical Expense Benefits.

Accident Medical Expense Benefit is what the policy will pay for medical services expenses if a participant is injured. This covers costs like emergency room charges, doctor visits, hospital bills and other similar expenses.

This is the most the policy will pay for Accidental Death, Dismemberment and Paralysis benefits total during the policy period.

This coverage pays the injured party or their beneficiaries a set amount of money if they die, lose a limb or are paralyzed as a direct result of an accident at your facility or while participating in a covered activity.

No. The business personal property (BPP) coverage does not extend to locations outside of the United States.

(Property is covered within the United States & territories, Puerto Rico & Canada)

The distinction between renters insurance and Business Personal Property (BPP) is simple:

-Renters insurance covers individual personal property/liability.
-BPP covers business personal property and business interruption.

A renters policy will not cover damage or loss to any equipment used for a business.
Landlords often will confuse these terms as well so if your business rental location's landlord asks you to get renters insurance, they typically mean you need to get BPP coverage and general liability coverage.
If your home residence landlord asks you to get renters insurance, then you need to get renters insurance.

Our Business Personal Property & Business Interruption Coverage Plan is backed by LIO insurance group.

They are rated A- with A.M. Best.

This limit covers building glass at a covered rented or leased premises caused by or resulting from a covered incident. You must be a legal tenant of the property or have a contractual responsibility to insure the glass or a contractual responsibility to pay for loss or damage to that property.

This coverage will pay the expenses to extract pollutants from land or water at your covered locations if the pollutants results from a covered incident that occurs during the policy period.

Debris removal means removing from a covered location any debris resulting from a covered incident. The debris must be reported in writing within 180 days of the incident.

This limit covers loss of business money and securities resulting from theft or destruction while at a bank or savings institution; within the homes of you, your partners or any employees with authorized custody; at your business location; or in transit between any of these places.

This limit is for additional property that you newly acquire during the policy period. If the newly acquired property exceeds the limit of coverage selected for your policy, then the additional coverage will apply automatically for 30 days or until the policy expires (whichever comes first).

The Total Insurable Value (commonly called TIV) is the total you want covered on the policy! Simply add together the value of your Business Personal Property and your Business Income & Expenses amounts.

Example:
Betty's Barre Studio owns $35,000 in business personal property (mirrors, barre, flooring & audio equipment used for classes) and her monthly business income & expenses are around $15,000 (rent, income, payroll). Betty will want to plan for the following coverage amount:

3 months of business income & expenses: $45,000
Business personal property: + $35,000
Total Coverage Needed: $80,000

Tenants' Improvements and Betterments coverage is a type of property insurance for an insured who is leasing space in a building and needs permanently installed fixtures or improvements to perform their business functions (for example, mirrors and a barre installed in a dance studio).

The tenant adds those features at their own expense. However, those fixtures or improvements become the property of the landlord unless there is a loss or damage to those improvements. In that case, the tenant is responsible for repairing or replacing those fixtures and improvements. This coverage is intended for those types of repairs and replacements.

Business Interruption & Extra Expense insurance provides coverage when your business shuts down temporarily due to a covered loss. This helps replace your income and covered expenses like rent, payroll and other financial responsibilities during times when your business is not able to operate.

The coverage amount is the dollar amount you choose that the insurance company will pay total during the time your business is unable to operate. We recommend planning for a maximum of 3 months of business income and expenses.

This coverage "floats" with your business property that is not a permanent structure. This "floater" coverage protects you for total loss, damage and theft of your movable business property.

Your business property means movable items owned by your business (equipment, computers, supplies, furniture, etc.). The property could be located in your home office, office building, gym, studio, or other location you work from. In addition, your clients' property is also covered while it's under your care (such as during a training session). Coverage only applies to equipment in the United States.

Defense Costs coverage is included in our general & professional liability insurance coverage limits. Defense Costs refers to all the costs of defending against a lawsuit. These expenses include the cost of hiring a lawyer, court fees, investigations, gathering facts, filing legal paperwork, and other related costs.
