Esthetician Examples

What if??

Wondering what kind of claims could be covered by esthetician liability insurance? We've got some examples to make it easy.

  • General Liability: The table your client is lying on breaks, causing them to fall and break their wrist. They sue you for pain & suffering. This insurance pays for your defense and any costs you are deemed responsible to pay.
  • Professional Liability: A client sues you because you burned their face while applying a new mask, and they can’t go to work because of their appearance, meaning they are losing out on pay.
  • Damage to Premises Rented: You spill some product on the floor of the salon space you are renting, causing $5,000 in damage. This coverage would pay for that cost because you are legally responsible to pay for that damage.
Note: These are just examples. Your claims adjuster will have the final say in coverage and payouts.

Damage to Premises Rented to You

This is liability coverage for property damage to a premise for which the insured is liable. This coverage applies to a property the insured rents or has permission to use.

Medical Expenses

Coverage that reimburses others, without regard to the insured’s liability, for medical or funeral expenses incurred by such persons as a result of bodily injury or death sustained by accident under the conditions specified in the policy. This does not apply to the named insured or their employees.

Personal & Advertising Injury

The amount that your policy will pay for claims arising out of one or more of the following offenses:

  • False Arrest, detention or imprisonment
  • Malicious prosecution
  • Wrongful Eviction or Wrongful Entry
  • Oral or written publications that slander or libels a person or organization
  • Oral or written publication or material that violates a person's right of privacy

Defense Costs

Defense Costs coverage is included in your general & professional liability insurance coverage limits. Defense Costs refers to all the costs of defending against a lawsuit. These expenses include the cost of hiring a lawyer, court fees, investigations, gathering facts, filing legal paperwork, and other related costs.
This is often the most important aspect of protecting you if you are being held liable for bodily injury or property damage resulting from your services.
