INSURANCE FOR HAIR STYLISTS | A+ RATED ONLINE HAIR STYLIST LIABILITY INSURANCE

Hair stylist liability insurance is a valuable and necessary step in protecting yourself and your work. Often, states will even require liability insurance for hair stylists when you apply for a hair stylist license. Some property owners or salon owners might also require you to carry your own hair stylist liability insurance. Defense costs to defend yourself against frivolous lawsuits can be high, but Alternative Balance's hair stylist insurance can step in to take that worry off your mind.

Alternative Balance also offers insurance for spa and salon business owners.

If you're renting a booth or you are an independent hair stylist, our insurance includes insurance for booth renters. If this represents your work, then be sure to also add your landlord or salon owner as an additional insured on your hair stylist insurance policy. We can help you understand why this is important, or you can read through our FAQs about additional insureds.

The maximum amount your policy will pay in a 12-month period for bodily injury and property damage claims that result from the products you use to perform your services.  However, it does not cover products that are sold or distributed.

Damage to Premises Rented to You

This is liability coverage for property damage to a premise for which the insured is liable. This coverage applies to a property the insured rents or has permission to use.

Medical Expenses

Coverage that reimburses others, without regard to the insured’s liability, for medical or funeral expenses incurred by such persons as a result of bodily injury or death sustained by accident under the conditions specified in the policy. This does not apply to the named insured or their employees.

Personal & Advertising Injury

The amount that your policy will pay for claims arising out of one or more of the following offenses:

  • False Arrest, detention or imprisonment
  • Malicious prosecution
  • Wrongful Eviction or Wrongful Entry
  • Oral or written publications that slander or libels a person or organization
  • Oral or written publication or material that violates a person's right of privacy

Defense Costs

Defense Costs coverage is included in your general & professional liability insurance coverage limits. Defense Costs refers to all the costs of defending against a lawsuit. These expenses include the cost of hiring a lawyer, court fees, investigations, gathering facts, filing legal paperwork, and other related costs.
This is often the most important aspect of protecting you if you are being held liable for bodily injury or property damage resulting from your services.
