Bodywork Examples

What if??

Wondering what kind of claims could be covered by bodywork insurance? We've got some examples to make it easy.

  • General Liability: Massage table leg breaks and client falls off table and gets injured.
  • Professional Liability: A client sues you because they claim they told you they had an injured shoulder, but you proceeded to work on it anyway, making the injury worse.
  • Damage to Premises Rented: Your massage table breaks and damages the hardwood flooring in your rented space.
Note: These are just examples. Your claims adjuster will have the final say in coverage and payouts.

General & Professional Aggregate

The most your policy will pay in a 12 month policy period for bodily injury and property damage claims that you become legally obligated to pay due to your business and professional services.

Products-Completed Operations Aggregate

The maximum amount your policy will pay in a 12-month period for bodily injury and property damage claims that result from the products you use to perform your services.  However, it does not cover products that are sold or distributed.

Damage to Premises Rented to You

This is liability coverage for property damage to a premise for which the insured is liable. This coverage applies to a property the insured rents or has permission to use.

Medical Expenses

Coverage that reimburses others, without regard to the insured’s liability, for medical or funeral expenses incurred by such persons as a result of bodily injury or death sustained by accident under the conditions specified in the policy. This does not apply to the named insured or their employees.

Personal & Advertising Injury

The amount that your policy will pay for claims arising out of one or more of the following offenses:

  • False Arrest, detention or imprisonment
  • Malicious prosecution
  • Wrongful Eviction or Wrongful Entry
  • Oral or written publications that slander or libels a person or organization
  • Oral or written publication or material that violates a person's right of privacy
  • The use of another's advertising idea in your advertisement

Defense Costs

Defense Costs coverage is included in your general & professional liability insurance coverage limits. Defense Costs refers to all the costs of defending against a lawsuit. These expenses include the cost of hiring a lawyer, court fees, investigations, gathering facts, filing legal paperwork, and other related costs.
This is often the most important aspect of protecting you if you are being held liable for bodily injury or property damage resulting from your services.
