We are seeking an experienced insurance agent to join our team as an Insurance Engagement Specialist to support the CIO and Customer Service team in daily business insurance activities. This role will be responsible for handling insurance-related questions and policy service requests. Additionally, you will play a key role in participating in insurance training for our customer service representatives and marketing team, and collaborating with insurance partners on various tasks as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Insurance Support:

  • Serve as a resource for the customer service team, providing guidance and expertise on insurance-related inquiries.
  • Assist with complex insurance questions and specialized document requests that arise during customer interactions.
  • Ensure that customer service representatives have access to accurate and up-to-date insurance information.

Training and Development:

  • Participate in training sessions and ongoing support to team members on insurance products, policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
  • Represent Alternative Balance in insurance-related webinars or presentations periodically to provide insurance education to members or interested groups.
  • Contribute to our blog articles related to insurance topics that are relevant to our industry.

Collaboration with Insurance Partners:

  • Work closely with insurance partners to facilitate the exchange of information, documents, and data.
  • Maintain effective communication and coordination with insurance providers to address queries and streamline processes.

Group Sales:

  • Identify and contact organizations or individuals within the target classes that would be a good fit for our insurance program and convert them into memberships and/or partnerships.\
  • Develop proposals and other materials useful in presenting insurance plan information to groups to earn their business.
  • Track progress and outreach efforts and report regularly on progress to CIO.

Documentation and Record-Keeping:

  • Ensure accurate documentation of insurance-related interactions and transactions for compliance and reporting purposes.
  • Generate reports and documentation as needed to analyze policy service requests and any issues.Problem Resolution Support:
  • Provide expert assistance in investigating and resolving customer complaints or issues related to insurance services.
  • Escalate complex problems to higher management or relevant departments when required.

Stay Informed:

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, changes in insurance regulations, and product offerings.
  • Share knowledge and insights with the team to improve overall service quality.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a P&C Insurance Agent or Underwriter or in a similar role within the insurance industry.
  • Must be P&C and Surplus Lines licensed in New Hampshire.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of insurance products, coverage options, and standard policies.
  • Familiarity with Risk Purchasing Groups is a plus.
  • General understanding of general & professional liability, business personal property, business interruption, and malpractice policies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external insurance partners.
  • Ability to learn new software and follow office procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel, Google Docs & Sheets, and Adobe Acrobat.

Job Type: Full-Time, 9am – 5pm M-F

Compensation: $68,000- $75,000 Annual Salary

Location: Hybrid. Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays employees work from home. Tuesdays & Thursdays employees are required to come to our Henniker, NH office.

Benefits: We offer IRA contributions, company paid lunches when in the office, sick time off and vacation time off. Due to our smaller size, we currently do not offer health/dental insurance or 401K benefits.
